I can forgive every problem with YAML except that the name also makes sense when shortened as "yml" e.g. in a file extension.

Nobody would ever name their files ".jsn", but every week I have to double check whether I'm supped to name my files .yml or .yaml depending on what was used in the context previously.

@malte There must be a graphics designer somewhere also super pissed about jpeg vs jpg

@rune @malte they weren't pissed enough to invent Portable Enhanced Network Graphics 🤷‍♀️

@rune @malte graphic designers have showing file extensions turned off

@rune It's like HTM, HTML and JPEG, JPG and CFG, config. I'm sure there are a lot more, but today we really shouldn't be using the shorthand on most systems in my opinion. We just don't have the 8.3 filenames anymore.
